Iran Captures British Soldiers

Interesting news from the Persian Gulf today as Iranian military forces have captured fifteen British soldiers at gunpoint. The United Kingdom's ministry of defence has confirmed this, saying a Iranian naval vessel captured the soldiers.

The UK government is currently demanding the immediate release of the soldiers and their equipment. They also assert that the soldiers were performing routine military patrols within Iraqi waters and that the Iranian actions were unlawful.

The soldiers were captured at 10:30 AM local time when they boarded a boat they believed was smuggling automobiles. The soldiers are currently being held along the Shatt al-Arab waterway according to Helicopter reports. Naval authorities are currently working on a diplomatic solution to the situation.

This is not the first time Iranian forces have captured British soldiers, the last time this occurred was in 2004, those soldiers were eventually returned but not before being forced to 'apologize' on Iranian television.

MySpace Deleted My Account

The skinny of this whole entry is summarized in the title, so if you don't wish to read then be content that you know now what happened to me. However, if you wish to know why, please continue reading. This entry will cover some of my beliefs and some of my interests.

First off, I am a conspiracy nut, I would like to believe our government is open and public about everything that occurs in the world, but I do not drink the magic Kool-Aid. That being said, I am not a full fledged nut case about conspiracies. I believe there are rational explanations for many things and that the people who believe aliens are trying to impregnate us with satellite microwave beams are, well, not all their. One person, well actually on group that I am particularly interested in, but not affiliated with, is the 9/11 Truth Movement.

I do not entirely believe the story behind 9/11. I believe planes hit the buildings, but I am doubtful that those planes alone could have taken those buildings down. Do I think terrorists performed the deed, sure in the immediate sense, but I also believe certain members of our government, and perhaps other governments, were intimately involved in the whole sordid affair and that the whole attack was just a careful movement of a piece in a worldwide game of 'chess.'

One popular member of the 9/11 Truth Movement is Alex Jones, a radio host, television show host and movie producer. Alex Jones hosts a radio show on GCN, an internet radio station and is one of the major and most public conspiracy theorists in the world. Mr. Jones produced a movie called 'Terrorstorm - A History of Government Sponsored Terrorism' last year, he released it as a dvd that could be purchased and he also released a less than dvd quality version of it on Google Video for the world to see.

This video detailed factual events of government sponsored terrorism, ranging from the Reichstag fire to the overthrow of the democratic government of Iran in 1953. Mohammad Mossadegh, the Prime Minister of Iran, was overthrow by a CIA led coup that was also backed by British Petroleum (BP). The video went over known events in history that governments used terror tactics to bring about social, economic and political change.

I posted a link to this video on my MySpace page.

Another popular movie in the 9/11 Truth Movement is 'LooseChange 2nd Edition' a movie that while containing some errors brings up interesting points about the events of the terrorist attacks in September of 2001. While I cannot go through each point of the movie, bear in mind that many people have seen it and it has had numerous news articles written about it. It is a widely known film about 9/11, whether people believe it or not.

I posted a link to this video on my MySpace page.

Now you might be asking, what do these things have to do with your MySpace page being removed? Well, I really and truly do not know why they deleted my page, but I can theorize. MySpace is owned by the same company that owns Fox News, the News Corporation. Rupert Murdoch, the CEO of the News Corporation is a well known Neocon/Conservative that is more than chummy with the Bush Administration. Now, it wouldn't look good for a page on such a site as MySpace, which is owned by a big shot friend of the administration, to be sporting links to videos that contain accusations of illegal activity, if not damning evidence of 'high crimes and misdemeanors.'

Now, unless MySpace found my relatively normal taste in music offensive (maybe they hate the Beatles), they don't like my linking to NationStates, a popular geopolitical nation simulator, or they don't like that I also link to national Libertarian political website, I cannot see a reason outside the two videos that MySpace might have for deleting my account. Maybe that didn't come out right, I used a lot of commas, so I will say it again. The other content on my MySpace page, which was innocuous at best, could not have been found objectionable; therefore the two videos that I posted links to, videos that the News Corporation may have seen as 'not in line with their political views', had to have been the reasons MySpace used for removing my page. To say the least, I do not appreciate this at all.

I decided to probe.

I sent them an email through one of the text fields they have available on the support pages. I received back one of those automated emails, I actually expected this as many companies automatically send these as immediate responses; a sort of 'we got your message' email. Some time later I received another email, this one I think was sent by a person, it just read like it was. It essentially told me that if my password was correct, if I could not login, that if my page was deleted, there was nothing under heaven that could or would make my page come back.

MySpace, I hate you.

MySpace, goodbye.

I will never, ever, make another MySpace page, not after this bullshit. I happen to like my freedom of speech and do not enjoy having my voice stifled by any power. MySpace, News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch, I hope your stocks fall, I hope your assets shrivel up like grapes in the California sun, but most of all I hope you burn in hades.

Police Charge Family With 'Slavery'

Police in Greensburg, Pennsylvania are charging a family with what amounts to the modern day enslavement of a young woman. Emily Nicely (photo left) is accusing the five members of the Pollard family of keeping her against her will and forcing her to work as their slave, a notion that is quite shocking to modern day Americans and quite illegal in all civilized nations.

Nicely accuses that Mark and Cynthia Pollard became physically abusive toward her shortly after she moved in with them so that she could finish her high school education. She says that the Pollard family would force her to do work around the house against her will and that they would beat her if she refused.

Nicely also accuses that she was not permitted to leave the house unless supervised by a member of the Pollard family, presumably so that they could make sure she didn't alert the authorities or run away.

Nicely managed to alert a man who's newspaper she delivered after he noticed the bruises on her face. A hospital examination revealed that she was also suffering from a concussion.

The Pollard family, however, has a different story. They are accusing Nicely of lying and they propose that she received her injuries after falling off her bike while delivering newspapers.

Currently Mark, Cynthia and Mark Pollard II, their oldest son, are in jail, while the two youngest are out on bail and living with relatives.

Even though the 2008 election is more than a year away, it is important to register to vote as soon as possible. The law requires that all voters be at least 18 years of age and that they be legal residents of the nation and the state they are voting in.

Registering to vote is actually quite simple and convenient. There exists a website called Rock the Vote that acts as a portal for American citizens who wish to become informed voters.

Remember, it doesn't matter who you vote for, that is your prerogative, it just matters that you do vote. Our nation cannot operate unless we have an active populace.
