"Panel approves Roberts for Supreme Court"

"WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday approved Judge John Roberts to become the 17th chief justice of the United States, sending his nomination on to the full Senate where his confirmation appears to be a certainty.

The committee's vote was 13 to 5, with all 10 Republicans supporting President Bush's nominee. Three Democrats including Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont, senior minority member of the panel, also supported the 50-year-old federal judge and longtime corporate attorney."

I am not surprised that Kennedy voted no, his stance has always been that the Republican party can do nothing right and that the only good SCOTUS member is a democrat appointed one. I am shocked he didnt come out and say that he thinks President Bush should have asked the democrats who to appoint, ya know, just to be fair. Hehehehehe. Democrats, the party of no ideas.
